Let the cutting beggin
STEP 6
time to get cutting,
i tend to cut out the whole design in one go, try to cut as lightly as you can you dont want to mark the body shell to much, any line's that are very close together such as pin stripes or back to back lines ill leave till last,(just my way) I'll rub of the marker pen with break cleaner,( test it first make sure it doesnt eat into your body shell)then i cut the pin stripes or back to back lines, (this is just my way) i find it makes it easyer to get the pin stripes close and neat that way,(you can follow the first line you cut) i then use a damaged airbrush needle which i sharpened to a very fine point and slightly hook at the end, this is used as a pick to lift up the cut parts, darkest parts first(or chrome pin stripes as chrome needs a dark backing to pop) and then work your way from dark to light,

here's my tools
on a side note
heres my tools,
Iwata bcs air brush, hooked needle, scalpels, and paints
Rattle can paint
If your going to use rattle cans, warm them up first i sit mine in hot water for ten Min's and keep shaking them from time to time until they feel warm to touch, this makes the paint spray finer and stick / dry better, apply the first coat very very lightly (just a dusting)then set a side and let it dry.the second and third coats should just barely cover and be completely dry before each coat, and continue until you have enough coverage for you, usually 2-4 coats is more than enough,
Airbrushing
is applied the same way but can be done more accurately,I use auto air and createx water based paints thinned with auto air 4011 fast reducer,i also spray at 25-40 psi depending how fine or course I'm applying the paint, for chrome or holograph paints i use RCS from Jon miller its the best and most cost effective Ive found and stick well to all shells,
